The Boston Red Sox beat the Houston Astros 12-3. Eduardo Rodriguez got the start and the win for the Red Sox, firing 6 innings, giving up five hits, three earned runs, while striking out seven batters. Jose Urquidy got the start and the loss for the Astros, firing 1.2 innings, giving up five hits, five earned runs, while walking two and striking out one batter. The Red Sox got the scoring started in the bottom of the 2nd, Christian Vasquez hit an RBI single to make it 1-0 Sox. Christian Arroyo hit into a fielders choice to make it 2-0 Sox. Kyle Schwarber hit a grand slam to make it 6-0 for the Red Sox after 2 innings. In the bottom of the 3rd, Christian Vasquez hit an RBI single to shallow center field to make it a 7-0 game. Christian Arroyo hit a two run homerun to make it 9-0 Red Sox. In the top of the 4th, Kyle Tucker hit a three run homerun to trim the Red Sox lead to 9-3. In the bottom of the 6th, J.D. Martinez hit a two run homerun to make it 11-3 Red Sox. Rafael Devers hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the 8th to cap off the 12-3 win. These two teams will play each other again tomorrow night.
