Christian Vasquez delivers a walk off two run homerun to give Boston the series lead over the Tampa Bay Rays

Final score: 6-4 Boston Lead Best Of Five 2-1

The Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-4. 

Nick Pivetta got the win for the Red Sox, firing 4 inings, giving up three hits, while walking one and striking out seven batters. 

Louis Patino got the loss for the Rays, firing 1.1 innings, giving up one hit, two earned runs, while walking one batter. 

The Rays scored the first runs in the top of the 1st, Auston Meadows hit a two run homerun to make it 2-0 Rays early on.

The Red Sox would answer back in the bottom half of the 1st, Kyle Schwarber hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 2-1. In the bottom of the 3rd, Kike Hernandez hit an RBI single to tie the game at 2-2. Rafael Devers hit an RBI single to give the Red Sox the 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the 5th, Kike Hernandez hit a solo homerun to make it a 4-2 game. 

Wander Franco hit a solo homerun late in the game for the Rays, to make it a 4-3 game. In the same inning, Randy Arozarena hit an RBI double to tie the game at 4-4. 

There would be no more scoring in this one, so we would need extra innings, in the bottom of the 13th inning, Christian Vasquez hit a two run walkoff homerun to make it a 6-4 win for the Boston Red Sox.
