POSTGAME QUOTES
On the penalty kill:
The PK gave us a lot of good momentum – big kills, big blocks. When the blocks and kills weren’t there, the goalie was. It gave us a lot of momentum. We had a couple of chances on them. It definitely was a big part of our win today. Something to look forward to as we move ahead.
VINNI LETTIERI (GAME-WINNING GOAL, 2 ASSISTS)
On today’s game:
It felt a little back-and-forth. They got two on us pretty quickly there. We had some chances. At the end of the day, we just had to stick to our systems. When we stray from them, we’re kind of on our heels a little bit. And then in the third, we got back into and got some success. A lot of PK time for us tonight, myself included on a couple of bad penalties. Artie played great and we had so many great blocked shots and it started with the PK tonight and we’ll just move forward with that.
WILLIAM VILLENEUVE (2 ASSISTS)
On Artur Akhtyamov:
He’s calm. If you would see him off the ice, he’s the nicest guy you can ever meet. For me, it’s just his calmness. He inspires a lot of confidence in us and it showed again tonight. He was awesome last year and I’m excited to see him this year.
