The Toronto Argonauts earned their 2nd victory of the 2026 CFL season with an exciting 40-34 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday night at Mosaic Stadium.

Head coach Mike Miller made a bold decision late in the first half that changed the game. Instead of running out the clock while trailing 17-13, the Argonauts attacked through the air. Quarterback Chad Kelly connected with Damonte Coxie for a 37-yard gain before finding rookie Tyler Kahmann for a touchdown with just six seconds remaining, giving Toronto a 20-17 halftime lead.

The second half remained a back-and-forth battle as both offences produced big plays. Kelly continued to lead the Argonauts with poise, while Toronto’s running game and special teams contributed key plays to keep the Roughriders from taking control.

Saskatchewan fought back late, but Toronto’s defence came up with timely stops to preserve the six-point victory. The win handed the Roughriders their first loss of the 2026 season while improving the Argonauts to 1-2.

Toronto will look to build on the momentum when they travel to face the Calgary Stampeders next week, hoping the breakthrough performance in Regina marks the beginning of a turnaround for the season.
