Toronto FC returns to MLS action tonight with one of Canadian soccer’s biggest rivalries, traveling to face CF Montréal in the first Canadian Classique of the 2026 season at Stade Saputo. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The match will be available on Apple TV’s MLS Season Pass, as well as TSN and RDS in Canada.

Both clubs enter the match with 14 points, making this an important contest in the Eastern Conference playoff race. Toronto sits at 3-6-5, while Montréal is 4-8-2. With both teams trying to climb the standings after the World Cup break, three points could provide a major boost.

Toronto will look to captain Jonathan Osorio, defender Richie Laryea, and Italian star Federico Bernardeschi to lead the attack and provide experience in a hostile road environment. The Reds must improve defensively after conceding goals consistently before the break, while taking advantage of their opportunities on the counterattack.

Montréal will rely on home-field advantage in what is always a physical and emotional rivalry. The hosts know a victory would move them ahead of Toronto in the standings and build momentum for the second half of the MLS season.

Players to Watch

Toronto FC: Federico Bernardeschi, Jonathan Osorio, Richie Laryea

CF Montréal: Prince Owusu, Samuel Piette, Jonathan Sirois

Prediction: Toronto FC 2, CF Montréal 2

Expect a fast-paced, hard-fought Canadian Classique with plenty of intensity as both clubs battle for valuable Eastern Conference points.
