A familiar face reaches a familiar destination, the Golden State Warriors advance to the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight years, eliminating the Dallas Mavericks in five games. The Warriors led throughout giving Dallas no chance of taking hold of this game. There was a sense of urgency from Golden State and Klay Thompson set the tone.

With Klay leading the way, each of the five Warriors' starters finished in double figures. Thompson finished with 32 points on 8-16 shooting from behind the arc. Steph Curry wasn't the most efficient but made huge plays down the stretch en route to being the first-ever recipient of the Western Conference Finals MVP.

Luka Doncic did his best but it simply wasn't enough. The future face of the NBA finished with 28 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. However, he looked very fatigued and frustrated throughout the game. There was a lack of help from his supporting cast, allowing the Warriors' defense to hone in on stopping Luka.

Golden State outrebounded Dallas 51-34, one of the main storylines throughout the series. Kevon Looney had yet another impressive outing with 10 points and 18 rebounds. Despite the Mavericks having an amazing third quarter, that level of success was proven to be unsustainable in the fourth. This led to this being the first game of the series in which the team who won the third quarter ended up losing the game.

The ball movement for the team in black and yellow was sensational and proved to be a huge upper hand over Dallas. The Warriors finished with 36 assists on 45 field goals, compared to Dallas who finished with 22 assists on 37 field goals.

The 2010s were dominated by the Golden State Warriors in the finals and now the Warriors make their first Finals appearance in the 2020s. They will now wait for the winner of Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat to prepare for their matchup in the 2022 NBA Finals.
