The Toronto Raptors do the impossible and complete a 22-point comeback against the San Antonio Spurs by scoring 123-116 in an overtime match. Throughout the first three quarters, the Raptors were horrible on both ends of the court until a sudden surge propelled the team to do the unthinkable.

This game wasn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination. Besides Dennis Schroder, there were no bright spots early on from this team. Schroder who has been amazing for this team finished with 24 points and six assists on the night. Keeping the team afloat early on, the FIBA World Cup MVP, was a staple in Toronto's efforts throughout.

There was clearly a lack of energy, which resulted in poor mistakes on offence along with a lackadaisical performance on defence. Rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama made his presence felt on both ends early. Defensively he eliminated any paint opportunities the Raptors had. Players were constantly second-guessing when attacking the rim and Wembanyama gave good reason as he finished the night with five blocks, including a snatch block where he didn't even have to jump.

Toronto couldn't stand in front of any Spurs member in the first 36 minutes. Malaki Branham started in replace for the injured Devin Vassell and notched double-figure points for the first time this season with 16 points. Zach Collins was also a problem finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds. However, Keldon Johnson led the way in scoring for the Spurs with 26 points on the night along with six rebounds.

Despite these great performances from multiple Spurs players, the best player on the court resided from the away team. Scottie Barnes continued the absolute tear that he has been on to start this season. The young star finished with 30 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. This wasn't a game where he had it going from the get-go. He scored 17 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter alone.

He couldn't be stopped in the slightest. This included an assortment of shots. He backed down Jeremy Sochan for a big poster dunk. During the clutch, he connected on a gigantic step-back three to tie the game in the final minute of play. The jump that Barnes has made this season can't be credited enough.

O.G. Anunoby was also huge in this game finishing with 24 points and a career-high seven three-pointers. Down the stretch, he was matched with Wemby and held his own preventing the rookie star from getting to any of his desired spots on the court, proving his worth to the fullest extent.

Toronto avoids a costly loss and improves to 3-4 on the season. They will prepare for their next game against the 5-1 Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday at 8 PM ET.
