Dramatic finishes and the Jets

Today's late games were highlighted by some dramatic finishes and the New York Jets realizing where they really are as the season advances.

First the other New York team the Giants travelled to Arizona to take on the consensus pick for the worst team in the league going into the season to prove that they aren't the worst team after last Sunday night's beat down by the Dallas Cowboys. They showed that thanks to a late Field Goal by Graham Gano they are slightly better than the Cards as they win on a late drive 31-28. QB Daniel Jones accounted for 380 yards combining his passing and rushing yards while throwing for 2 TD's and running one in, a huge recovery from last week.

A potential problem for the men in blue as Saquon Barkley was helped off the field with a right ankle injury.

The San Francisco 49ers and the LA Rams played a tight game with the 49ers led by the trio of Brock Purdy and the versitie Christian McCaffrey and Wide Back Debo Samuel were too much for the Rams still missing Cooper Kupp. One note if you're looking for a Fantasy pick up at Wide Reciever, Rookie Puka Nacua from BYU starred for the Rams with 15 catches for 147 yards filling in for Kupp and probably earning a slot for the season.

The 49ers win 30 to 23.

The Sean Payton era begins 0-2 as the Washington Commanders beat the Denver Broncos in an amazing finish where a Russel Wilson Hail Mary was answered to set up a potential OT forcing 2-Point conversion. The Commanders held and win 35-33 leading them to a very surprising 2-0 with a newly efficent offense led by the intense OC Eric Bieniemy and second year QB Sam Howell. Just becasue I know you're asking he's from North Carolina.

Finally the Dallas Cowboys are the Champions of the battle of New York as they opened the season by beating a defending Playoff team in the Giants and Division Favorite in the Jets by a combined score of 70 to 10. At least the Jets can claim all 10 points.

Of course this is the Jets team that was expected to be on the field as Aaron Rodgers is recovering from surgery and Zach Wilson is back at the helm. After winning in relief Week 1 his first start didn't inspire much confidence, 12 for 27 passing and 3 interceptions isn't going to work even with a very talented Defense.

For the Cowboys CeeDee Lamb put up the big stats with 11 catches for 143 yards.
