NFL Week 11 Recap: Bolts and Bengals Pick Up Big Wins
Teams on Bye: Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams
Record entering this week: 91-58-1
Thursday Night Football
New England Patriots (6-4) at Atlanta Falcons (4-5)
Pick: New England Patriots
Result: New England Patriots, 25-0
New England arrived in Atlanta and quickly silenced the crowd and ran away with this game.
1 PM Eastern Time Slot
New Orleans Saints (5-4) at Philadelphia Eagles (4-6)
Pick: Philadelphia Eagles
Result: Philadelphia Eagles, 40-29
The Saints scored late to make this one look closer than it actually was. Philly seems to have figured out how to run the ball and win some games. They still have a shot at their division.
Miami Dolphins (3-7) at New York Jets (2-7)
Pick: Miami Dolphins
Result: Miami Dolphins, 24-17
The Dolphins were the better bad team this week and knocked off the Jets. They are technically still in the Wild Card race, but they’ll need plenty of help to sneak in.
Washington Football Team (3-6) at Carolina Panthers (5-5)
Pick: Carolina Panthers
Result: Washington Football Team, 27-21
Taylor Heinicke and Cam Newton both played quite well in this one, but Washington came away with the win.
Indianapolis Colts (5-5) at Buffalo Bills (6-3)
Pick: Indianapolis Colts
Result: Indianapolis Colts, 41-15
Indy not only pulled off the upset, they dominated the Bills. Jonathan Taylor is on an absolute tear.
Detroit Lions (0-8-1) at Cleveland Browns (5-5)
Pick: Cleveland Browns
Result: Cleveland Browns, 13-10
The Browns didn’t play very well, but it was well enough to beat the Lions.
San Francisco 49ers (4-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7)
Pick: San Francisco 49ers
Result: San Francisco 49ers, 30-10
San Fran was able to avoid the trap game and picked up the relatively easy victory over the Jaguars.
Houston Texans (1-8) at Tennessee Titans (8-2)
Pick: Tennessee Titans
Result: Houston Texans, 22-13
The Texans not only kept this respectable like I predicted but also won the physicality battle and the game.
Green Bay Packers (8-2) at Minnesota Vikings (4-5)
Pick: Minnesota Vikings
Result: Minnesota Vikings, 34-31
I wasn’t confident claiming it would be a close one down to the wire or a blowout but it was indeed a close one in the final moments. An overturned interception call let Minnesota pull off the upset over Green Bay.
Baltimore Ravens (6-3) at Chicago Bears (3-6)
Pick: Baltimore Ravens
Result: Baltimore Ravens, 16-13
The Ravens eked out a win without Lamar Jackson in the lineup and continue to impress with their overall ability to win.
4:05 PM Eastern Time Slot
Cincinnati Bengals (5-4) at Las Vegas Raiders (5-4)
Pick: Cincinnati Bengals
Result: Cincinnati Bengals, 32-13
The Bengals got back on track here and took care of business against the Raiders. I’m intrigued to see how they finish the season.
4:25 PM Eastern Time Slot
Arizona Cardinals (8-2) at Seattle Seahawks (3-6)
Pick: Arizona Cardinals
Result: Arizona Cardinals, 23-13
The Cardinals picked up another win without Kyler Murray at QB and continue to impress. If they can get and stay healthy entering playoffs, this team is going to be a nightmare to stop.
Dallas Cowboys (7-2) at Kansas City Chiefs (6-4)
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs
Result: Kansas City Chiefs, 19-9
The Cowboys definitely had the opportunity to win this one on paper, but KC’s defense played much better than it has most of the season.
Sunday Night Football
Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3-1) at Los Angeles Chargers (5-4)
Pick: Los Angeles Chargers
Result: Los Angeles Chargers, 41-37
The Bolts and Steelers played in arguably the most exciting game of the year with LA narrowly coming away with a victory. If they’re able to make a nice free agent signing and hit on a couple of draft picks next year then I won’t be surprised to see them as many peoples’ pick to win the Super Bowl.
Monday Night Football
New York Giants (3-6) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3)
Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Result: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 30-10
The Giants seem destined for a breakup with Daniel Jones and David Gettleman which means a new regime will have to fix this roster that’s been stuck in neutral for the better part of a decade.
Record this week: 13-2
Record this season: 104-60-1
