Teams on bye: Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs

Thanksgiving Thursday

Chicago Bears (4-6) at Detroit Lions (0-9-1)

Pick: Chicago Bears

Result: Chicago Bears, 16-14

Chicago needed the full 60 minutes to win, but they just barely got past the Lions. Nagy retains his job, at least for now.

Las Vegas Raiders (5-5) at Dallas Cowboys (7-4)

Pick: Dallas Cowboys

Result: Las Vegas Raiders, 36-33 (OT)

This was a wild game from start to finish. Like much of this week I was wrong, but I’m not surprised.

Buffalo Bills (6-4) at New Orleans Saints (5-5)

Pick: Buffalo Bills

Result: Buffalo Bills, 31-6

If Buffalo wants to be considered a top threat in the AFC then they need to win games like this. Next week’s matchup against the Patriots will be huge.

1 PM Eastern Time Slot

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-3) at Indianapolis Colts (6-5)

Pick: Indianapolis Colts

Result: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 38-31

The Colts look like the best .500 team in the league, nearly keeping pace with the reigning champs.

New York Jets (2-8) at Houston Texans (2-8)

Pick: Houston Texans

Result: New York Jets, 21-14

One of these two bad teams had to win and New York did just enough, despite the “back interception” play.

Philadelphia Eagles (5-6) at New York Giants (3-7)

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

Result: New York Giants, 13-7

Jalen Hurts looked lost and just a tiny bit worse than Daniel Jones in this low scoring affair. Neither of these teams look poised to contend for another handful of years.

Carolina Panthers (5-6) at Miami Dolphins (4-7)

Pick: Carolina Panthers

Result: Miami Dolphins, 33-10

Miami played well, but Cam Newton played awful football and couldn’t be protected. Add in the loss of CMC for the rest of this season and the Panthers are in trouble.

Tennessee Titans (8-3) at New England Patriots (7-4)

Pick: New England Patriots

Result: New England Patriots, 36-13

New England is playing sound football and that should scare just about every team in the league. They still lack a true downfield passing game, but it seems like no one has been able to punish them for living by their war of attrition style just yet.

Pittsburgh Steelers (5-4-1) at Cincinnati Bengals (6-4)

Pick: Cincinnati Bengals

Result: Cincinnati Bengals, 41-10

I picked the Bengals, but I didn’t pick this score. Both Cincy and Pittsburgh have been wildly different teams from week to week.

Atlanta Falcons (4-6) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8)

Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars

Result: Atlanta Falcons 21-14

It was a bit of a Hail Mary picking the Jags and Cordarrelle Patterson saw to it that the Falcons would come away with a W.

4:05 PM Eastern Time Slot

Los Angeles Chargers (6-4) at Denver Broncos (5-5)

Pick: Los Angeles Chargers

Result: Denver Broncos, 28-13

This Broncos roster is impressive, but their QB play needs a bit more consistency and explosiveness for them to feel like a true contender.

4:25 PM Eastern Time Slot

Los Angeles Rams (7-3) at Green Bay Packers (8-3)

Pick: Los Angeles Rams

Result: Green Bay Packers, 36-28

The Rams have rattled off three straight losses since acquiring Von Miller and will likely be playing in the playoffs as a Wild Card team thanks to Arizona. We’ll see if they can put together a few wins to close out the year.

Minnesota Vikings (5-5) at San Francisco 49ers (5-5)

Pick: Minnesota Vikings

Result: San Francisco 49ers, 34-26

Both of these teams are fighting to stay alive in the NFC race and both played well. Both of these teams also feature QBs who could be on the move in the offseason if they don’t start putting together impressive tape in wins.

Sunday Night Football

Cleveland Browns (6-5) at Baltimore Ravens (7-3)

Pick: Baltimore Ravens

Result: Baltimore Ravens, 16-10

An ugly, slugfest of a game. Cleveland gets the next week off and then battles the Ravens once again. Won’t be surprised if it’s another low scoring, tactical affair.

Monday Night Football

Seattle Seahawks (3-7) at Washington Football Team (4-6)

Pick: Seattle Seahawks

Result: Washington Football Team, 17-15

Neither of these teams feel like they really deserved to get another win. Heinicke is showing glimpses of promise though and could be a cheap, bridge like QB while Washington looks for a long-term answer.

Record this week: 5-9

Record this season: 109-69-1
