Game Preview: Leafs close out home stand against the Canucks
The Toronto Maple Leafs (7-5-2)) will close out their five-game home stand tonight when they host the Vancouver Canucks (10-2-1).
Toronto played last night, winning 5-4 in a shootout against the Calgary Flames.
William Nylander remains hot for the Leafs, extending his point streak to 14 games. He picked up two goals and an assist. He’ll look to make it 15 games tonight.
Toronto’s third line with Nick Robertson, Max Domi and Calle Jarnkrok has been productive, picking up points in their last three games.
Ryan Reaves will be a healthy scratch tonight as Bobby McMann was called up by the Leafs this morning and will be on the fourth line with Noah Gregor and David Kampf.
John Klingberg will return to the lineup after missing yesterday’s game with an injury. Simon Benoit will sit out.
Former Maple Leafs Sam Lafferty and Ilya Mikheyev will take on their former team for the first time. Mikheyev has been productive with Vancouver this season, collecting five goals and three assists for eight points in nine games.
Meanwhile, Lafferty has six points in 13 games.
Ilya Samsonov and Thatcher Demko will be the goalies between the pipes tonight.
The puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. on Sportsnet/CBC.
