The Florida Panthers take a 3-0 series lead over the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 3-2 overtime win.

Sam Reinhart scored the overtime winner three minutes in after a back-and-forth battle.

Ilya Samsonov left the game after a collision with his own man Luke Schenn. Joseph Woll entered in his first NHL playoff game and took the loss allowing all three goals on 21 shots.

Sam Lafferty and Erik Gustafsson were the goal scorers for the Maple Leafs. They both scored their first goals of the postseason with Lafferty scoring his first ever playoff goal.

Anthony Duclair scored on a breakaway early in the second to tie in. Carter Verhaeghe scored late in the second to tie it again following Gustafsson’s marker.

It only took three minutes into overtime for Reinhart to score. A terrible read by all the Maple Leafs on the ice allowed for an easy one to go in the back of the net.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe continued to juggle the lines. No Matthew Knies for the rest of the series after his wrestling match with Sam Bennett that saw no disciplinary hearing for player safety. Keefe elected to go with the 11 forwards and seven defence scratching Timothy Liljegren after a poor game two. Justin Holl drew back in as the sixth defenceman.

No penalties for the Panthers in this one as well. No excuse for the poor effort the Maple Leafs put on the ice. Two goals each game through three is unacceptable especially from a team as deep as this one.

Game four is Wednesday in Florida as the Maple Leafs fight for their playoff lives, trailing the series 3-0.

TOR Scoring: Lafferty (1), Gustafsson (1)

FLA Scoring: Duclair PP (2), Verhaeghe (4), Reinhart OT (5)
