The Mississauga Steelheads announced today that the club have traded forward Kai Schwindt to the Sarnia Sting in exchange for the Guelph’s Storm ninth-round pick.

Schwindt signed with the Steelheads in July 2021. He played in 135 career games for the Steelheads, putting up 42 points.

Schwindt went undrafted in the 2022 NHL draft. He was invited to the Florida Panthers training Camp. Schwindt left a great impression and earned himself a three-year entry contract with the Panthers.

This season, Schwindt has been in the AHL and played one game with Charlotte Checkers, the AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers. He was sent down to the ECHL Florida Everblades.

Schwindt will return to junior, where he will join the Sting.
