Bellator 300 was recently made official and if the reports of a sale are true, they will certainly be going out with a bang.
This past Wednesday, it was announced that the milestone event will be taking place at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California on Saturday, October 7. The promotion has an entertaining night of fights planned as there will be 4 title fights featured on the main card.
Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov will look to keep his undefeated MMA record intact as he takes on former champion Brent Primus in the semi-finals of the $1 million Bellator Lightweight World Grand Prix. Nurmagomedov remains highly touted and yet to enter his physical prime, which is remarkable considering how easy some of his wins have been and the quality of opponents he has fought thus far.
Bellator women's flyweight champion Liz Carmouche will defend her title against her longtime friend Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, who is the promotion's longest reigning women's flyweight champion. This could be a significant bout for both as Macfarlane could possibly retire after the fight, which she has alluded to in the past.
Much like the previous milestone event for the promotion earlier this year, the Bellator heavyweight championship will also be on the line as Ryan Bader defends against Linton Vassell in a rematch of their 2017 bout. Bader has been one of Bellator most successful fighters since joining from the UFC, so it's fitting that he compete on what could be the final event in the promotion's history.
The Bellator women's featherweight championship bout between Cris Cyborg and Cat Zingano is likely to serve as the main event. The bout has been years in the making and will see Cyborg, who is one of the greatest female MMA fighters of all time, look to add another title defense to her Hall of Fame resume.
It will be interesting to see what bouts the promotion have planned for the prelims portion as it appears as though the main card will only feature title fights only.
