For the first time in franchise history, the Texas Rangers are World Series Champions. The Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Rangers shortstop Corey Seager was named the Most Valuable Player, the second time he has won the award.

BASKETBALL

The complicated but accomplished coach Bob Knight died at 83 years old. Knight led Indiana to three national championships. He is also known for his outbursts and temper.

FOOTBALL

The Las Vegas Raiders have a lot going on. Head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler have been fired. And, the team is also replacing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with Aidan O’Connell.
