it's time to Lead in AEW! The BCC is in-charge
Mox and Brian Danielson are stepping up
While the headlines screamed CM Punk is fired the more important story to AEW wasn't really reported that much. The Blackpool Combat Club is taking the lead.
It was shown in Chicago where the American Dragon Brian Danielson stepped up to the plate to take over for Punk in the Strap Match featured in the Pay-per-View held at the United Center. His pressence in the match shows how much he means to All Elite Wrestling moving forward. The fact that he put on one of the matches of the show after being out with injury since the Forbiddewn Door PPV ealier this year showed the faith the CEO/Owner Tony Khan has in him stepping in to this spot.
In the post event Media Scrum it was announced that he would also be featured on Collision moving forward on Saturday nights so again he is stepping into a role that Punk had held. He'll be one of the driving forces now for Collision and will be tasked with keeping the different feel to the program going forward.
That leaves us with another member of the BCC and the new International Champion Jon Moxley. In a sense he was the first BCC member to step up and lead when he took on a bigger role in AEW following the Elite and Punk scuffle and suspensions of last year. Now he is taking on the roll of the Workhorse Champion from Orange Cassidy and will be featured reguarly defending the International Title while also being a leader behind the scenes.
What is unique is their group's culture is actually what is needed in AEW now and in most companies in general. The willingness to put in the work to be better and to will. The willingness to work together to improve and keeping focused on the goal.
With the roster that AEW has with other veterans like Sting, Chris jericho, Jeff Jarrett, Matt Hardy and Samoa Joe. Younger impact players including the Elite, Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks and Hangman Page. Established stars brought in including Saraya, Adam Cole, Jay White and Swerve Strickland plus their young stars including Ricky Starks, Hook and Willow Nightengale. With an amazing amount of talent that I haven't mentioned the pieces are in place for an amazing run the leadership just needs to be there.
Now it's time for the BCC to truly lead in and out of the ring to continue the growth of All Elite Wrestling into the next year.
