Timberwolves come back to shock Nuggets, set up Western conference final with Mavericks

The Minnesota Timberwolves have knocked out the defending NBA champions following a comeback game seven win in Denver.

Minnesota was trailing 53-38 at the half, but thanks to some hounding defense in the third quarter, they closed the gap to just one. Then in the fourth, they took control to win the game 98-90 and the series 4-3.

Like most of the season, it was a team effort and depth that put Minnesota over the top. Karl-Anthony Towns and Jaden McDaniels both put up 23 points, with Towns also adding 12 rebounds. Anthony Edwards put up 16 points, 8 rebounds, and seven assists.

This is the first time the Minnesota Timberwolves have advanced to the conference finals since 2004, when MVP Kevin Garnett led the team to the final four.

The Timberwolves will now play the Dallas Mavericks with a finals place on the line.
