Spain 2, France 0
Spain booked its place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final with an impressive 2-0 victory over France at Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The reigning European champions controlled the match from start to finish, ending France’s hopes of reaching a third straight World Cup final.
Spain took the lead in the 22nd minute when Mikel Oyarzabal calmly converted a penalty after teenage star Lamine Yamal was fouled inside the box. Yamal was a constant threat throughout the match, using his pace and creativity to trouble the French defense.
The Spanish doubled their advantage in the 58th minute. Pedro Porro finished off a slick passing move with Dani Olmo, giving goalkeeper Mike Maignan no chance and putting Spain firmly in control.
France, led by Kylian Mbappé, struggled to create quality chances against Spain’s organized back line. Goalkeeper Unai Simón produced another assured performance as Spain recorded yet another clean sheet, frustrating one of the tournament’s most dangerous attacks.
With the victory, Spain advances to the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, where they will face the winner of England vs. Argentina. France will now play in the third-place match on July 18.
