Blue Jays Home run Report 2026

The Toronto Blue Jays dropped their third straight game to the Texas Rangers, falling 7-4 at Rogers Centre on Saturday. A costly fifth inning proved to be the difference as the Rangers broke the game open and secured the series victory.

Toronto starter Dylan Cease struck out 10 batters, but control issues and a five-run fifth inning cut his outing short. The Blue Jays’ bullpen was unable to contain the Rangers, who received key RBI hits from Jake Burger, Alejandro Osuna, and Elias Díaz during the decisive rally.

The Blue Jays mounted a comeback in the middle innings. Yohendrick Piñango blasted a two-run home run, while Alejandro Kirk hit a solo homer—his second of the season and the 500th hit of his MLB career. Andrés Giménez later added an RBI single to trim the deficit to 7-4, but Toronto could get no closer.

Before the game, Toronto placed outfielder Jesús Sánchez on the 10-day injured list with a right ankle sprain and recalled infield prospect Sean Keys along with outfielder Yohendrick Piñango from Triple-A Buffalo. Piñango made an immediate impact with his two-run homer.

The Blue Jays will look to avoid a four-game sweep in Sunday’s series finale against the Rangers as they try to get back on track before beginning a new homestand.
