The July 7 edition of NXT focused on determining future championship challengers while NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey continued to prove she belongs at the top of the division.

Kendal Grey Retains

In the night’s main event, Kendal Grey successfully defended the NXT Women’s Championship against veteran Nattie. Nattie pushed the champion with her technical wrestling and nearly won with the Sharpshooter, but Grey escaped and delivered her devastating Shades of Grey finisher to retain the title. After the match, Jaida Parker attacked Nattie’s allies, adding more fuel to an already heated rivalry.

New No. 1 Contenders Crowned

Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux earned an opportunity at the NXT Tag Team Championship by winning a Fatal 4-Way Match over BirthRight, OTM, and DarkState. Their victory came after they capitalized on chaos among the other teams to secure the title shot.

Layla Diggs also had a breakout performance, defeating Thea Hail, Izzi Dame, and Lizzy Rain in a Fatal 4-Way Match to become the new No. 1 contender for Zaria’s NXT Women’s North American Championship. Diggs finished the match with an impressive moonsault for the biggest win of her young career.

Other Results

– Keanu Carver defeated Tank Ledger after another dominant performance.

– Niko Vance defeated Shiloh Hill after a distraction opened the door for the victory. Following the match, Shawn Spears attacked Hill with a steel chair, escalating their rivalry.

Looking Ahead

Next week’s NXT will feature:

– Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux challenging for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

– Layla Diggs challenging Zaria for the NXT Women’s North American Championship.

– A Triple Threat Match featuring Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, and Kali Armstrong to determine the next challenger for Kendal Grey’s NXT Women’s Championship.
