Toronto FC suffered a dramatic 2-1 defeat against D.C. United at Audi Field tonight, extending their current winless streak to 11 consecutive matches.

Match Summary

The game remained tight through the first half until the 41st minute, when D.C. United took the lead following an unfortunate own goal off a corner kick by Toronto FC defender Kobe Franklin.

Toronto FC battled back after the break and found an equalizer in the 76th minute. Winger Theo Corbeanu found the back of the net, giving the visitors hope of securing a crucial point on the road.

However, the match concluded with late heartbreak for TFC. Deep into stoppage time, a VAR review resulted in a penalty awarded to D.C. United after Jackson Gilman conceded a foul inside the box. Tai Baribo stepped up and converted the penalty kick in the 10th minute of stoppage time (90+10′), sealing the 2-1 victory for the home side
