The women’s National Bank Open in Toronto has reached the semifinal stage, with the tournament at Sobeys Stadium entering its final stretch. The 2026 event runs through August 13.
Elena Rybakina survives Naomi Osaka
Elena Rybakina rallied from a set down to defeat Naomi Osaka 4–6, 7–6(5), 6–4 in a dramatic quarterfinal.
Osaka had opportunities to take control in the deciding set, but Rybakina repeatedly escaped trouble before closing out the match after 2 hours, 33 minutes.
Coco Gauff advances
Coco Gauff reached the semifinals without having to complete a quarterfinal match after Belinda Bencic withdrew with a hip injury.
Gauff remains unbeaten in the tournament and is chasing her first title of 2026. This is her 16th WTA 1000 semifinal appearance.
