Though the match was in Colombia’s favor in the first 45 minutes, in the second half Argentina came back stronger, missing some good opportunities as Colombia’s goalkeeper Vargas made great saves. The match turned sour when Messi got injured and was substituted, but Argentina rallied and went into extra time. Just before penalty kicks, the deadlock broke in the 112th minute of extra time. With a beautiful pass by Lo Celso, L. Martinez received the ball and made a powerful shot past the keeper, winning Argentina their second Copa America trophy in 4 years.
