Barnes and Quickley shine as Raptors snap 11 game losing streak.

The Toronto Raptors kicked off their New Year with a 130-113 win over the Brooklyn Nets in Toronto Wednesday night, snapping an 11-game losing streak.

After struggling to score the previous night against the Boston Celtics, a few players stepped up in this one. Immanuel Quickley made his return to the lineup; this is just the fourth game he’s played this season, with the last being November 10th in a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. Quickley put up a double-double with 21 points and 15 assists in his return. Scottie Barnes also had an impressive outing; the fourth-year player racked up 33 points and 13 boards on 14-for-18 shooting from the field. Gradey Dick also brought the scoring touch, as he totaled 22 in the win.

For the Nets, Cam Johnson continued to show contending teams why they should get him, as he led the Nets with 24 points, shooting 3-for-5 from three. Speaking of returns, D’Angelo Russell made his return to Brooklyn following the trade with the Lakers; he scored 22 points and dished out eight assists in the loss.

The Raptors improve to 8-26; they return to the court Friday night when they host the Orlando Magic.
