Celtics book ticket to conference finals after game five win over Cavaliers

The Boston Celtics are the first team to book their ticket to the conference finals after their 113-98 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Boston on Wednesday night.

Besides their game-two loss, the Celtics looked dominating and convincing in this series, with an average margin of victory of 15 in their four wins. The Celtics got good production from Jayson Tatum this series after a disappointing opening-round series against the Heat. Before game five, Tatum was averaging 27.3 points per game and 10.5 rebounds. In game six, Tatum showed up again, scoring a team-high 25 while recording 10 rebounds and nine assists.

The Cavs were without three of their rotational players, Jarrett Allen, Donovan Mitchell, and Caris Levert. Mitchell’s name has been floating around in trade rumors recently, and the Cavs will have many questions facing them this off-season.

The Celtics will now await the winner of the Knicks-Pacers series.
