Celtics on the verge of sweep of Mavericks following game three win

The Boston Celtics have taken a commanding 3-0 series lead following their 106-99 win in Dallas on Wednesday night over the Mavericks.

The Celtics had a big lead in the fourth quarter and looked set for a comfortable win, but the Mavs went on a 20-2 run, cutting the lead to as little as two late in the frame. Jayson Tatum had his breakout game of these finals, scoring 31 points, while Jaylen Brown added 30, with 24 coming in the second half.

Kyrie Irving had a game-high 35 points, while Luka Doncic scored 27 and fouled out in the fourth quarter.

The Celtics can clinch their first championship since 2008 on Friday night.
