Columbia beat Uruguay to reach the Copa America 2024 finals

The semi-finals of the Copa America 2024 concluded with Colombia emerging victorious, defeating Uruguay 1-0.

Uruguay’s Darwin Nunez had two good chances in the first 30 minutes of the match but failed to convert. Colombia broke the deadlock in the 39th minute when James Rodriguez provided an assist from a corner, allowing Jefferson Lerma to head the ball in and make it 1-0 for Colombia. Just before halftime, Daniel Munoz received two yellow cards, resulting in his dismissal and reducing Colombia to 10 men.

In the 71st minute, Luis Suarez had a good opportunity for Uruguay, but his shot hit the crossbar and went out. Colombia had chances to extend their lead towards the end of the game but focused defensively to secure their spot in the finals of the Copa America 2024 tournament.

The final match on July 14th at the Hard Rock Stadium will see Colombia facing off against the reigning champions, Argentina.
