English Premier League Matchday 32

The Premier League might be coming to an end, but it is not short of an intense final few matches.

Arsenal and Manchester City hold the number one and two spots on the table. As things stand, either team needs to win all their matches to secure EPL glory.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, City beat Chelsea 3–0 this week, closing the gap with a game in hand. The next match on the schedule is Arsenal vs. Manchester City, and this will be one for the books. With only seven games left, and following Arsenal’s unfortunate loss to Bournemouth, even if they don’t beat City—but both teams win all their other matches—it could be the first time since 2011 that the season is decided on goal difference. So, this upcoming week is crucial for the Gunners, who have been inconsistent recently.

The race for the other three Champions League spots is also going down to the wire. Aston Villa took a 2–0 win today against West Ham and sit fourth in the table. United, who play today, will look for a win to widen the gap in third place. Liverpool also secured a victory in hopes of clinching a top-four spot, while Chelsea are only four points behind.

In the bottom half of the table, Tottenham, who were once considered part of the “Big Six,” find themselves in 18th place and on the brink of relegation.

It’s all coming down to the wire, with five more intense matchweeks to go before we see who will lift the English Premier League trophy this season.
