TORONTO — September 27, 2026 — Inter Toronto FC and Pacific FC produced one of the wildest matches of the Canadian Premier League season at York Lions Stadium, with Pacific escaping with a 4–3 victory after seven goals were scored in a remarkable first half.
The defeat leaves Inter Toronto nine points outside the playoff places with five matches remaining, according to the CPL.
Early Red Card Changes the Match
Inter Toronto’s night took a dramatic turn in just the 8th minute, when Oswaldo León was shown a red card, forcing Toronto to play the majority of the match with 10 men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, Inter Toronto continued to attack.
Pacific opened the scoring in the 13th minute, when Marco Bustos converted a penalty.
Just two minutes later, Inter Toronto answered. Juan Córdova found the net in the 15th minute to make it 1–1.
Toronto Takes Control
Inter Toronto then completed the comeback in the 28th minute.
A well-executed set piece from Frank Sturing found Luca Accettola, who headed the ball home for his third goal in five matches.

Pacific responded by bringing on Taras Gomulka, and the substitution immediately paid dividends. Gomulka headed home from a set piece in the 41st minute to level the match at 2–2.
Three minutes later, Ronan Kratt restored Pacific’s advantage, finishing a delivery from Christian Greco-Taylor.
Stoppage-Time Madness
Inter Toronto refused to go quietly.
After a video review, Toronto was awarded a penalty deep into first-half stoppage time. Ollie Bassett stepped up in the 56th minute of the match—11 minutes into stoppage time—and converted to make it 3–3. L
But Pacific had the final word before halftime.
Marco Bustos converted another penalty at 45+15, completing his brace and giving Pacific a 4–3 lead heading into the interval.
Second Half
After seven goals in the opening half, the pace settled considerably after halftime.
Inter Toronto continued to battle despite playing a man down, but Pacific managed the game effectively. The CPL reported that there was only one shot on target between the two teams in the second half.
Pacific appeared to score again in the 66th minute through Diego Konincks, but the goal was disallowed because of a double touch on the corner kick.
Inter Toronto pushed for an equalizer but couldn’t find the fourth goal.

Marco Bustos — Pacific FC: Two penalty goals and an assist made Bustos the game’s standout performer, earning the CPL’s Player of the Match recognition.
Luca Accettola — Inter Toronto: His first-half header continued an impressive scoring run, giving him three goals in his last five matches.
Ollie Bassett — Inter Toronto: After having a penalty saved against Vancouver, Bassett responded by confidently converting from the spot against Pacific.
