It was retro night in Scotiabank Arena Wednesday night, both teams wearing their classic jerseys, and it was the Memphis Grizzlies who prevailed with a 138-107 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Jaren Jackson Jr. continued his fine season as the All-Star with 32 points on 16 shots, while Ja Morant tallied 26 points, and the Toronto native Zach Edey put up a double-double in his first visit to Toronto as he scored 13 points while having 15 rebounds in the win.
For the Raptors, scoring was hard to come by as nobody scored 15 points; the closest were the two rookies, Jamal Shead and Ja’Kobe Walter, who both scored 14 in the loss.
This game wasn’t the biggest Raptors news from the night, as it was announced later that the Raptors have acquired Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, a 2026 top four protected first round pick via Indiana, and a second round pick.
As for the schedule, it doesn’t get easier for the Raps as they head on the road to take on the West’s best Oklahoma City Thunder Friday night.
