POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH JOHN GRUDEN

On the penalty kill:
Mike Dyck does a good job of preparing them, giving them a game plan and it starts back there with the goaltending. When you have Dennis and Artie back there, it makes a big difference and getting some defencemen inserted as well. They’ve done a really good job and it’s definitely something they’re building on. It’s good to see.

On the third period:
I thought it was really good. You knew they were going to give some pushes but I thought we were above them. We protected the middle of the ice, did really give them any grade-As. I thought we did a really good job managing the third period and because of that we get a power play goal. We’re going to have to bottle that one up and use it moving forward.

BO GROULX (1 GOAL, 2 ASSISTS)

On the third period:
The past couple of games we’ve had leads that we’ve given up at the end of the game and it was our main point after the second period, we were kind of up and down in our system and our habits, especially towards the end of the period and we came up in the third and we knew what to do, hard plays in and out of the zone. We did a great job, couple of goals and Artie was massive in net, a lot of great saves, especially in the second. It was a great job overall.
