The Denver Nuggets held on to beat the Toronto Raptors 121-119 Monday night in Denver. It was these two teams meeting for the second time in the spam of 8 days following their meeting on October 28th, which resulted in a Nuggets O.T. win.
The Raptors were leading the majority of the way, but like the first clash in Toronto, they just couldn’t hang on to the win. Nikola Jokic collected another triple-double as he scored 28 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, and blocked two shots. Russell Westbrook put up 21 points and dished up six assists in the win. The depth was also shown; Christian Braun had 17 points, while Peyton Watson finished with 16. The Nuggets with the win improve to 4-3.
RJ Barrett missed the game-winning shot as time expired; he finished with 16 points. Gradey Dick had a team-high 26 points in the loss, while Jakob Poeltl finished with a double-double as he totaled 24 points and 11 rebounds. The Raptors fall to 2-6 in the loss and are still winless on the road.
The Raptors return to action Wednesday night; they’ll head to Sacramento to take on the Kings.
