Senators Stun Struggling Leafs With A Big Win

The Toronto Maple Leafs’ recent slump continued Saturday night as they fell 4-2 to the surging Ottawa Senators.

Veteran forward Claude Giroux delivered a powerful goal in the second period, capping off a relentless offensive effort from Ottawa. Jake Sanderson, David Perron, and Michael Amadio also found the back of the net, while goaltender Linus Ullmark stood tall with 21 saves to secure the win.

For the Leafs, William Nylander and Auston Matthews provided the only offense, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Ottawa’s aggressive forecheck and defensive structure. Despite a back-and-forth second period that saw both teams trading goals, Toronto struggled to generate sustained pressure in the final minutes. Ottawa locked down defensively and Amadio sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the dying seconds.

With just weeks left in the regular season, can the Leafs find their footing before it’s too late? Or will their struggles continue as the postseason approaches?

Stay tuned for more updates as Toronto looks to regroup before its next matchup.
