Final: Golden State Valkyries 83, Toronto Tempo 75 (at Toronto)
Quarter-by-quarter:
Q1: TOR 17 – GSV 11
Q2: TOR 14 – GSV 30 (Valkyries took over)
Q3: TOR 28 – GSV 16 (Tempo rallied back)
Q4: TOR 16 – GSV 26 (Golden State closed it out)
Toronto opened strong and had a huge third quarter, but the second and fourth quarters buried them. Golden State’s bench outscored Toronto’s 52–20, which was the difference-maker.
Top performers:
Toronto: Isabelle Harrison led with 24 points (10-17 FG) and 8 rebounds; Marina Mabrey added 11 points but shot just 2-9 from the floor; Julie Allemand chipped in 9 points and 7 assists
Golden State: Janelle Salaun exploded for 26 points on 7-10 shooting (5-6 from three); Kaitlyn Chen added 16 efficient points off 8-12 shooting; Kayla Thornton contributed 15 points and 9 boards.
Toronto shot better overall (48.1% vs. 44.8%) but got outrebounded 38-28 and gave up too many second-chance points (15 to Golden State’s benefit). This drops Toronto to 4-3 in their last 7, with a rematch against Dallas coming up Friday, July 10.
