UFC Fight Night delivered a dramatic night of action in Shanghai on Saturday, as Song Yadong produced the biggest win of his career with a stunning second-round knockout of Umar Nurmagomedov in the bantamweight main event.
Song entered the bout against one of the division’s elite contenders, but he turned the fight around in spectacular fashion. A powerful right uppercut stopped Nurmagomedov in the second round, handing Song a statement victory and significantly boosting his position in the UFC bantamweight title picture.
The co-main event also ended in a major finish. Denise Gomes stopped former title challenger Yan Xiaonan in the opening round, making a strong statement in the women’s strawweight division. Gomes’ performance could move her closer to a future championship opportunity.
