Raptors Clinch Playoff Spot

Raptors Clinch Playoff Spot With Huge Win Over Nets & It Feels So Good!

It finally happened…

The Toronto Raptors are heading back to the NBA Playoffs for the first time since the 2021 – 2022 season and it came off a massive win on April 12th against the Brooklyn Nets.

After everything this team has gone through over the past couple of seasons, this one means something. This was not just another regular season win. This was the game that locked it in.

Toronto delivered under pressure and secured their spot in the postseason by finishing inside the Top 6 in the Eastern Conference and avoiding the Play In Tournament completely.

For a fan base that has been waiting to feel this again, this moment hits different.

Big Performances In A Must Win Game

When the Raptors needed their stars to step up, they did!

Scottie Barnes led the way with a strong all around performance, finishing with 24 points while also contributing rebounds and assists to control the pace of the game.

RJ Barrett continued his late season surge with 21 points and attacked the basket with confidence all night.

Brandon Ingram added 19 points and provided key scoring during important stretches when the game was still within reach.

Jakob Poeltl anchored the paint with 14 points and strong rebounding, helping Toronto control the interior against Brooklyn.

Toronto also received solid contributions from the supporting cast as the team played one of its most complete games in recent weeks.

For Brooklyn, Mikal Bridges led the way with 22 points while Cam Thomas added 18 points and tried to keep the Nets competitive.

What This Means For The Raptors

This win officially locks the Raptors into a playoff spot and avoids the Play In Tournament.

Toronto finishes the regular season with 46 wins and 36 losses, securing a Top 6 position in the Eastern Conference.

This marks the Raptors first playoff appearance since the 2021 – 2022 season, and it represents a major step forward for this group.

There were plenty of ups and downs this year. There were moments where this team looked lost. There were games fans felt should have been wins that slipped away. None of that matters now because The Raptors are back in the playoffs!!!

First Round Matchup Is Set

Toronto will now face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round so this is going to be a tough matchup.

Cleveland has been one of the stronger teams in the Eastern Conference all season and brings size, defense, and scoring depth.

At the same time the Raptors have shown they can compete when everything is clicking.

If Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Brandon Ingram continue to play at a high level and the team stays healthy, this series could be a lot more interesting than people expect.

How Close Were The Raptors To First Place

Realistically, first place in the Eastern Conference was never in reach down the stretch. The top teams built a strong lead earlier in the season and maintained that separation.

For Toronto to reach the top spot they would have needed a long winning streak combined with multiple losses from several teams above them. That scenario never materialized and the goal shifted to something just as important: Get into the playoffs and avoid the Play In. Mission accomplished!

Final Thoughts From A Longtime Fan

This one feels different, doesn’t it?

This team is not perfect. There are still questions about consistency, rotations, and how they will match up against elite teams in a playoff series but I think at the same time there is something exciting about this group. They compete. They fight. They are starting to figure things out at the right time and now they get their chance.

Playoff basketball is back in Toronto!!!

👏 Let’s Go Raptors 👏
