The Toronto Tempo’s difficult road trip continued Friday night with a 93-73 loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
A’ja Wilson led the way for Las Vegas with 27 points and eight rebounds, while Jackie Young added 23 points and eight assists without committing a turnover. The Aces controlled the game with their depth, experience and defensive pressure.
Toronto struggled to keep pace offensively and was unable to generate enough consistent scoring to seriously challenge the defending champions. The loss marked another setback for a Tempo team dealing with a depleted lineup and a demanding late-season schedule.
The Tempo had entered the game after losses to Seattle and Las Vegas earlier in the week, and the 20-point defeat dropped Toronto further into a difficult stretch. The club will now have to regroup quickly as its road trip continues.
Toronto’s next challenge comes Saturday night against the Phoenix Mercury. The Tempo will look to bounce back and finish the back-to-back with a stronger performance.
