The Toronto Blue Jays rallied late to beat the Boston Red Sox 6–4 at Rogers Centre, completing a three-game sweep and extending Boston’s losing streak to five games.
Game-changing eighth inning
Toronto broke the game open with five runs in the eighth. Kazuma Okamoto delivered the go-ahead RBI single, while Myles Straw followed with a two-run double. The Jays turned a 1–1 game after seven innings into a 6–1 advantage.
Boston answered with three runs in the ninth, but Louis Varland entered and shut the door for his 26th save. Tyler Rogers earned the win after a scoreless eighth.

The victory gave Toronto its third straight win over Boston and capped a sweep that strengthens the Jays’ momentum heading deeper into August. Boston, meanwhile, has suddenly gone from one of baseball’s hottest teams to a club searching for answers after five consecutive defeats.
