TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays closed out their three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles in emphatic fashion Sunday, rolling to an 8–1 victory at Rogers Centre and moving back to .500 at 75–75.
The victory was highlighted by a spectacular fifth inning in which George Springer, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Kazuma Okamoto hit three consecutive home runs, turning a 1–1 game into a commanding Toronto lead.
Game Story
Toronto opened the scoring before Baltimore answered in the fifth. Orioles slugger Pete Alonso drove in Baltimore’s lone run, but the Blue Jays immediately responded with their three-homer barrage.
Springer started the eruption, followed by Guerrero and then Okamoto, putting Toronto ahead 4–1 and shifting all the momentum to the home side.
Toronto added four more runs in the eighth inning to put the game away. Springer delivered again, finishing the afternoon with four RBIs, while Guerrero collected four hits and hit his ninth homer of the season.
Pitching
Dylan Cease provided Toronto with an excellent start, working five innings, allowing just one run and striking out nine. He kept Baltimore’s lineup under control and handed the game to the bullpen with Toronto firmly in command.
Baltimore starter Trevor Rogers took the loss after allowing four runs over six innings.

The back-to-back-to-back home runs in the fifth were unquestionably the game’s defining sequence. What had been a tight 1–1 contest suddenly became a 4–1 Toronto advantage, and the Orioles never recovered.
Playoff Implications
The win was particularly important because Toronto entered the day fighting for the American League wild-card position. After Saturday’s 7–3 victory, the Blue Jays completed the series win and improved their position in the postseason race
