Today, the Brampton Steelheads announced Porter Martone as the 13th captain in franchise history.
Martone was a member of the Sarnia Sting but was traded to the Steelheads in 2023. Since being acquired by Brampton, he has played in 92 career games with the Steelheads and has scored 46 goals, 47 assists, and 93 points.
On TSN’s central scouting, Martone was listed as the fourth-best prospect in North America ahead of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
The Steelheads will have six alternate captains. Stevie Leskovar, Spencer Sova, Angus MacDonell, Finn Harding, Carson Rehkopf and Mason Zebeski.
Brampton will begin their 2024-25 season tomorrow at the CAA Centre in Brampton against the Brantford Bulldogs.
