The Toronto Tempo got off to a strong start but could not maintain their early momentum as the Atlanta Dream stormed back for a 102-77 victory Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Toronto came out energized in front of the home crowd, building a 25-13 lead after the opening quarter. The Tempo’s aggressive defense and efficient offense had Atlanta on its heels early, but the Dream responded with a dominant second quarter and never looked back. Atlanta outscored Toronto 34-14 in the second period to take control of the game and extended its advantage throughout the second half.

The Dream were led by Angel Reese, who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 17 rebounds, including 11 offensive boards. Allisha Gray paced Atlanta’s offense with 26 points and seven assists, while Rhyne Howard added 24 points. Rookie Isobel Borlase provided a spark off the bench with 17 points.

For Toronto, Isabelle Harrison led the team offensively before being ejected early in the third quarter following a Flagrant 2 foul. The incident proved to be a turning point as Atlanta seized complete control of the contest. Toronto struggled to contain the Dream on the glass and had difficulty generating consistent offense against Atlanta’s defensive pressure.

The loss drops the Tempo to 7-7 on the season, while the Dream improve to 9-4 and strengthen their position among the WNBA’s top teams. Toronto will look to regroup quickly as they continue their homestand and aim to return to the win column in their next outing.
