Game Preview: Leafs look for seventh straight win against Colorado

Toronto Maple Leafs (32-16-8) visit Colorado Avalanche (35-18-5) at Ball Arena. 

Toronto is finishing up a four-game road trip. They will look to go 4-0.

Toronto is coming off one of their best games of the season Thursday night, defeating the defending Stanley Cup Champions Vegas Golden Knights 7-3.

The Leafs’ depth scoring has been outstanding for them as of late in recent games. Forwards Max Domi, David Kampf and Pontus Holmberg scored on Thursday night. 

Auston Matthews, William Nylander, Bobby McMann and Mitch Marner are on point streaks. They will look to keep it going. 

Toronto has won six straight games—their highest of the season. 

Toronto and Colorado met for the first time in January, which saw the Avalanche comeback from a 3-0 deficit and win 5-3.

The Avalanche are among the best home teams in the NHL, with a record of 22-5-0.

Nathan MacKinnon has recorded a point in all of Colorado’s home games this season. MacKinnon leads the Avalanche with 93 points. 

Ilya Samsonov is the expected starter for the Maple Leafs.

The expected starter for Colorado is Alexander Georgiev. 

The start time for the game is at 7:00 p.m. on Sportsnet/CBC.
