Krejcikova And Alcaraz Win Wimbledon, Messi Injured As Argentina Wins Copa América Title

Barbora Krejcikova, seeded #31, won Wimbledon and grabbed her second Grand Slam singles title (first was in 2021 at the French Open). Krejcikova had previously never advanced past the second round at Wimbledon.

In the men’s final, Carlos Alcaraz took home the title after beating Novak Djokovic for the second straight year.

Argentina won a record 16th Copa América title by beating Columbia 1-0 at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium. Messi suffered an injury in the 64th minute and was visibly distraught as he cheered on his team from the bend. With the win, Argentina surpasses Uruguay for the most Copa América titles.
