LeBron James is officially joining the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2026-27 NBA season, ending his eight-year run with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 41-year-old announced the move on July 24, saying he still wants to compete for another championship.

According to reports

He is signing a 2-year, $8 million contract with a player option for the second season.

The deal is a significant pay cut from his previous salary, reflecting his priority of chasing another NBA title.

The 76ers’ projected core now includes:

LeBron James

Joel Embiid

Tyrese Maxey

Jaylen Brown

The addition immediately makes Philadelphia one of the favorites in the Eastern Conference and a legitimate NBA championship contender.

This will be LeBron’s 24th NBA season, and he has indicated it is expected to be his final chapter as a player.
