For the second straight game, the Sabres battled back from a third-period deficit to win. Owen Power scored his first of the season at 4:22 of overtime, giving Buffalo a 3-2 victory over Minnesota at KeyBank Center on Tuesday night.

After an evenly played, scoreless first period, Minnesota jumped out on top. Danila Yurov netted a power-play goal at 13:53, rifling the puck past Sabres goaltender Colten Ellis to make it 1-0. Less than two minutes later, Maxim Shabanov added to the Wild’s lead, cleaning up a loose puck after a Quinn Hughes rush and sweeping it past Ellis to make it 2-0.

The Sabres finally got things going early in the third.

At 3:53, Noah Östlund cut the lead in half, tapping in an Owen Power centring pass by goaltender Jesper Wallstedt.

Then, at the 9:33 mark, Tage Thompson scored his second goal of the season to tie the game, finishing a one-timer off a Peyton Krebs pass to make it 2-2.

Neither team could break the tie in regulation, so they played the extra five minutes. With just under 40 seconds remaining in overtime, Owen Power finished the comeback with a well-placed wrist shot from between the circles for the 3-2 game-winner.

Buffalo will try to extend its winning streak to three when it takes on the Dallas Stars at KeyBank Center on Thursday night.
