Mavericks hold off Timberwolves to take game one

The Dallas Mavericks have taken a 1-0 series lead on the road after a 108-105 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday night. 

Back-court duo Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic combined for 63 points, with the former scoring a game-high 33 on 52 percent shooting from the field, while Doncic rounded out his night with six rebounds and eight assists. 

Jaden McDaniels led the Wolves with 24 points, while Anthony Edwards struggled, shooting 37.5 percent from the field and scoring 19 points. 

Game two is Friday night in Minnesota.
