The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday morning that the team has re-signed forward Nick Robertson to a one-year, $875,000 contract.
Robertson was a restricted free agent and requested a trade in late June, as he did not want to re-sign with the Maple Leafs. TSN Insider Darren Dreger said yesterday on FirstUp1050 that a deal between Robertson and Toronto was something that was going to get done.
The Pasadena California Native turns 23 on Wednesday. He put up a career-high with the Maple Leafs in the 2023-24 season. In 56 games, he had 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points. With Robertson signed, he will have an opportunity to be in the Leafs’ top six this season.
Robertson was drafted by Toronto in 2019 in the second round 53rd overall.
