The Toronto Argonauts dropped a heartbreaking 24-23 decision to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday night at Hamilton Stadium, falling to 2-4 on the 2026 CFL season.
In the latest edition of the QEW rivalry, the Argonauts battled back after trailing for much of the game. Quarterback Chad Kelly moved the offense effectively through the air, while Toronto’s receiving corps made several key plays to keep the visitors within striking distance. The defense also forced timely stops, giving the offense opportunities late in the contest.
The Tiger-Cats answered with a strong fourth-quarter drive and held off Toronto’s final comeback attempt. A late scoring drive brought the Argonauts within one point, but Hamilton’s defense prevented the visitors from completing the rally.
The loss marks Toronto’s third straight defeat, putting additional pressure on the club as it looks to regain momentum after opening the season with six consecutive road games due to scheduling changes during the FIFA World Cup.
The Argonauts will now travel west to face the BC Lions on July 25, hoping to snap their losing streak before finally returning to BMO Field in early August.
