The Toronto Tempo dropped an 89-76 decision to the Dallas Wings on Sunday afternoon at Coca-Cola Coliseum, falling to 9-11 on the season after another difficult game played with a short-handed lineup.

Dallas took control early, scoring 30 points in the opening quarter behind strong outside shooting and relentless work on the offensive glass. The Wings maintained the lead throughout the afternoon, with Toronto unable to complete a comeback despite several second-half runs.

Marina Mabrey led the Tempo offensively, while Satou Sabally also contributed in double figures. However, Dallas adjusted after the opening quarter to limit Toronto’s perimeter attack, forcing the Tempo into difficult offensive possessions. Injuries continued to be a major storyline, with several key players unavailable and Julie Allemand unable to play after suffering an ankle issue during warmups.

For Dallas, rookie star Paige Bueckers finished with 22 points and seven assists, leading a balanced attack that saw all five starters score in double figures. Jessica Shepard recorded another double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Azzi Fudd added 17 points as the Wings improved their playoff positioning.

The loss extends a challenging stretch for the Tempo, but with several key contributors expected to return from injury in the coming weeks, Toronto remains in the hunt for a WNBA playoff berth as the second half of the season begins.
