Toronto Maple Leafs and Joseph Woll agree to a contract extension

NHL on ESPN analyst Kevin Weekes reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs have agreed to a new contract with goaltender Joseph Woll.

The contract is reportedly three years long at $3.5M—$4M AAV. and will be officially announced next week on July 1st. Woll was set to be a restricted free agent next summer.

Woll is coming off his first full season with the Maple Leafs. In 25 games played, he went 12-11-1 with a 2.93 GAA and a save percentage of .907. In three playoff games this season with Toronto, he went 2-0 with a 0.86 GAA and a save percentage of .964.

Toronto drafted Joseph Woll in the third round of the 2016 NHL draft, 62nd overall. Woll has been highly touted as the Maple Leafs’ goalie of the future.

In 39 career games with the Leafs, Woll has a record of 23-13-1.

The new deal for Woll will begin during the 2025-26 season.
